Nocturnal Transformation

It may have started with our flying back from the United States (Jan says all problems can be traced back to Jet-Lag), but my sleep schedule is officially fuc*ed up.

Tuesday night, I slept a total of two hours (3am-5am) before putting in a grueling 11-hour day at the dubbing studio. I fell asleep on the train to work, on the couch at work, and even while dubbing the film!

Wednesday night, I slept a total of 13 hours (12am-1pm) and boy-o-boy did I need it. I woke up feeling refreshed and back on schedule.

But maybe I had got too much sleep, because last night I was working on the computer late at night (as I do) and didn’t actually get to bed until 8am! I just wasn’t tired. I then woke up at 12pm, 2pm, and then again at 5pm for a total of 9 choppy hours.

The worst part is that I don’t see an end to this anywhere in sight. Tonight, Jan and I are going to my office Christmas party at 10pm and then to see Fatboy Slim in concert at 1am. Tomorrow night, we have another Christmas party to go to. And them on Sunday, we’re off to have a Christmas lunch out in the country with the people who work in the “Witch’s Restaurant” just below our apartment.

Hopefully next week, when we travel to England to visit Jan’s parents, we’ll be hurled back into a normal sleep pattern. All we really do there is wake up, watch TV, and eat really well. Sounds like just what the doctor ordered.
