Action Stations

I found out at Tuesday’s volleyball practice that we don’t have a game scheduled for this weekend. Immediately I knew I had to plan something. We have games every weekend from now till June so this is a rare occasion indeed! I asked Jan if she wanted to go on a romantic skiing weekend with me – just the two of us. Head up Saturday night, stay in a hotel (with a bathtub!), and ski all day Sunday. The perfect plan.

I set myself into action. “To the internet, Robin!” I found the perfect ski slope: La Molina – the only mountain that’s any good before you hit Andorra. I found the perfect hotel: Hotel Solineu – right at the foot of the slopes. Now, how do we get there?

Last minute car rental isn’t an option – too expensive. I know: the train! So I searched online to find the train timetable. And I searched. And searched. Nothing. I found timetables for every train leaving Barcelona except the one I needed! Curses.

After searching some more, I found that the snow was particularly hard this weekend. No powder? Harrumph! Using this as justification, Jan and I decided to spend the next two days lying on the couch watching films.
