Winter Tan

Here’s a little note to all you cat burglars in Barcelona: we’re going to Florida in December!

Not for the Chanukah/Christmas/whatever end of the month. No, we’re bucking the trend and heading over for the beginning, before all the good December is used up. That’s right, we’ll be flying into Miami on December 3rd and then we fly out on the 13th. That’s 10 full days of sultry Sunshine State shenanigans!

Here’s a spreadsheet I created to help find the best deal on flights:

Let’s see who’ll be the first person to guess with which company I booked our flight (bonus points for figuring out the color codes).

Okay the green on the right is the least amount of flight time, followed by the orange and then red.
The left side colors indicate the most expensive and the least expensive of the flights orange being less expensive than the red.
So I assume you will be flying Air France.
It doesn’t matter if I win or not, because I win anyway, you are coming to Florida and I will be here waiting for Emily, Jan, the belly and you.
    Can’t wait. Mom

I agree with your Mom, obviously this code business is hereditary :-)

I’d have liked a third column with euros per hour in, just for the hell of it!

    Happy travelling!

  • Josh says:

Oooh, so close! You’ve got the color codes down, but I did not book our flight with Air France. Why? Can anyone tell?

@Garry – euros/hr would possibly be a helpful indicator, but I don’t think there is a direct relationship between the two. There would have to be another variable factored in, namely “annoyance”, for which there would be a sliding scale. You see, a 15-hour flight is more than just a 12-hour flight plus 3. 15 is inconceivable! So I’d have to determine at what rate the flight time becomes unbearable. Good suggestions, though.

  • Dad says:

Delta. It goes where you want to go.

  • Josh says:

It goes where I want to go, it just takes longer and costs more than anyone else. Except for Brisitsh Airways, that is. nope, not Delta.

  • Josh says:

Silly geese, I booked the flights with Opodo! Yes, we’re flying with Air France, but booking via Opodo saved me about 50 bucks. Now that’s change I can believe in!

  • Dad says:

Speaking of “Change”, did you request an absentee ballot for the up coming election ?

  • Josh says:

I most certainly did request an absentee ballot :)

Now I just need to decide who to vote for…
