Port de Comte

Saturday. No work. No volleyball match. Go skiing!

Ignasi and I jumped in Xavi’s car at 7am this morning and the three of us coasted north to Port del Comte – only two hours from Barcelona’s city limits. We’re on the same volleyball team and wanted to get some extra “leg training” in before tomorrow’s match against Arenys de Mar.

Snow quantity: not enough. I defiled the bottom of my board over more than one patch of rocks.

Snow quality: nice and powdery on the leeward side – kinda slushy on the windward side.

Weather: bee-yoo-ti-ful. Xavi got a little sunburnt on his huge forehead.

Difficulty: kinda easy. I found the slopes in Andorra much more of a challenge. But there were plenty of sweet jumps to be found! I was a star.

Company: friendly, but kinda slow. We had some good laughs, but I found myself stopping various times along each run to wait for the guys to catch up. I didn’t much care for that part. Good to know for next time.

Overall ski trip rating: not bad.

Next stop: the Alps.
