Josh’s Birthday Lipdub Location

The location should have character, allow for a fairly long route, be accessible, have a decent restaurant nearby for lunch, and maybe have a few hidden nooks and crannies to explore. Where do you want us to film? Choose wisely – you can only vote once!

Where should we record our lipdub?

As Basia and I are the same IP address your beautiful system is not letting me vote, as Basia did already.

However, I am my own person and would like to cast one vote for “Tibidabo”, and “Blame it on the Boogie”.

Rick Astley should be removedfrom the list, Seriously?!?

Labyrinth park Is SO Perfect! The video would come out SO trippy- no matter what the song! Plus, Look at the view!:

Sure, Guell would be cooler for views, but it’s liable to be a bit of a mess, on a Sunday? With all the tourists!?

    I vote Labyrinth!

    • Josh says:

Labyrinth is definitely trippy. I’m just concerned about accessibility, stuff for kids to do when not filming, and nearby restaurants for lunch. Food for thought.

  • Brendan says:

Montjuic is the only place on the list that wouldn’t be overrun with people. But labyrinth would cool- definitely gonna need a piece of string if you choose that!!!

  • Therese says:

Labyrinth definitely!! But what if we get lost :)

    Do we need permission though…

  • Phil K says:

Would the castle include the circle statues?

  • Emma says:

I vote beach, with funny old Barceloneta in the background, people sunbathing, running into the water, eating paella, iconic wobby statue, w hotel in distance. Lotta shots! Don’t use a tripod tho- you have to have permission for that, all else is free, or so I believe.

I know you have to have special permission to film in some of these places — have you checked into that? I understand the limits with Labyrinth park, but the advantage is that it won’t have as many unsolicited extras in it as the other locations.

    @Ed: You’ve been Rick Rolled!!!!

    • Josh says:

I kinda like the idea of unsolicited extras! But my main concern with the Labyrinth is that, once the camera enters the maze, that’s *at least* half of the song where the only thing you’ll see in the background of the video is a hedge. Great from the outside, kinda monotonous from the inside. I’m not saying it can’t work or can’t be great, I’m just thinking of variety in the finished product.

      • Mom says:

If you had a helicopter then you could really see the labyrinth, wow that would be ab fab

      • AmJan says:

I don’t think you have to be in the maze in there, though… there’s a lot more to the park than the labyrinth itself, pero bueno. It’s seriously going to be hard to film with the unsolicited extras if you really wanna do it properly. Terry and her Bollywood group filmed in Guell (with permission) last month, and she said it was really hard with people walking in and out of the picture. I had two other ideas of “perfect” songs last night, but now I’ve forgotten, and also… it’s too late.

  • AmJan says:

Oh yeah, and the Labyrinth park has that grassy knoll of punctuation marks … you cannot go wrong with that!
