I’ve still got two of these Emily sing-along videos left to share, so here’s the penultimate one. I’d just like to preface this video by pointing out that these were all filmed over the course of about 10 minutes one morning before school with me pressing the record button and then springing a surprise musical request on Emily. No advance warning, no second takes. Also worth noting is the fact that we had not sung this song together since Christmas. I am profoundly astonished at how a two year old can recall song lyrics from months earlier but can’t remember that I said to tidy up the living room just three minutes ago.
Josh, maybe it’s time you revisit “Mary Poppins”. Like many educators, Mary knew that things are easier to do and remember with a song. I am pretty sure the “Spoon full of sugar” bit will help you with the tidying-up problem. xx
