This Was England

Emily and Sebastian both slept through the night last night without waking up for the first time in weeks! Our jet lag is now officially over!! So that means it’s time for us to change time zones again.

Yes, we’re flying back to Barcelona today. After almost a full month of travel, we’re finally going home. That is such a good feeling. It’s only a one-hour time change, but it’ll be enough to keep us on our toes. Then New Year’s Eve. Then Kings Day. And then back to school/work! No rest for the weary.

So goodbye, England. Goodbye, Grandma and Granddad. Goodbye, Christmas cake, bitter weather, end-of-the-year comedy quizzes, live-in babysitters, central heating, and our Alfa Romeo. Have I mentioned that I’ve been driving an Alfa Romeo for the past week? I will surely miss all of the aforementioned things, but there will always be a special place in my heart for that Alfa Romeo.

To the airport!

  1. Be it ever so humble, there’s no place like home. Too bad you can’t just click your heels and transport yourself back home like Ms. Gump in The Wizard of Oz.
